This course considers the role of RE in the school curriculum, its cultural and theology issues and its impact upon the emotional and spiritual development of young people. It considers the history of RE, curriculum content, policy issues and the place of RE within schools. It explores the role of the school and the youth and community worker within the RE curriculum.
Participants develop their skills in planning and delivering programmes appropriate to a range of learners in school and youth work settings. The course incorporates various engaging learning strategies, including discussion, group activities, student-led work and skills practice in context.
