Andrew Third

Andrew has recently retired from a career in business, part of which was spent in senior roles in marketing and commerce for large energy companies in both the public and private sectors. In the later stages of his career Andrew was Director of a marketing consultancy, working mainly with charities and other not for profit organisations, an expertise that he is enjoying bringing to the CYM board.

Andrew has been active in Anglican churches throughout his adult life, worshipping in different parts of the UK as he travelled with his work. Settling in Nottinghamshire he has trained, and is serving, as a Licensed Lay Minister in the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.

As well as serving as a Trustee for CYM since June 2020, Andrew has for ten years been an active member of the management committee for a Christian development charity working in Uganda. He is actively involved in liaising with Ugandan partners on projects and visits Uganda most years.

Andrew is married to Louise and they have two adult daughters.

The Church is called to be distinctive within wider society, demonstrating the alternative culture of a community that follows Jesus. Significant within that is the way in which we engage with children, young people and those who are vulnerable in our communities, so CYM’s specialist areas for training are crucial for the Church’s mission.

Research Interests

Andrew has always maintained an interest in Economics, which was his first degree, and is in the final stages of studying for an MA in Mission, looking at the potential impacts of the advanced technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and their implications for the mission of the Church.
