Sarah has been part of CYM since she started as a student in 2005. After graduation she worked as Youth Pastor in a Baptist church and was ordained as a Youth Specialist in 2009. Following ordination, she studied for an M.Th. in Applied Theology at the University of Oxford. Alongside this she has been a practice tutor and lecturer at CYM and became a Trustee in 2018. In August 2020 she took on the role of Executive Trustee to steer CYM through the recent reorganisation and continues to lead CYM as it builds for the future.
Sarah is involved at national and regional levels supporting children, youth and families (CYF) work in Baptist churches: she sits on the national Baptist Union CYF Roundtable and as the Associate for CYF for the East Midlands Baptist Association. Sarah also tutors ministerial students at Northern Baptist College and works for Renew Wellbeing, a national charity supporting churches offering safe spaces for people of all ages to take care of their wellbeing. She was, until 2020, the pastor of a church in Leicestershire.
I am passionate about equipping those who work in churches with the skills and knowledge they need to work well in the places and with the people to which God has called them. CYM equipped me to do this, and we are focussed on providing excellent training that will serve students as they embark on their ministries in a fast changing environment.
