CYM MA Student
The MA in Mission and Ministry (Christian Leadership in Context) enables those leading in church and community projects to develop their skills and approach to mission and ministry.
Students have come from a range of contexts: qualified youth workers, staff in community development projects, volunteer pastoral workers, or those exploring a call to change their career.
The generalised learning in college is all applied to your particular context, allowing you to focus on your specialist area or explore new approaches or areas of leadership.

By integrating postgraduate level learning with CPD opportunities it is also a practical way to keep your professional knowledge and skills relevant and current. This course provides a unique approach to developing the theological thinking, reflective practice, and research skills needed for to shape, lead and develop effective mission and ministry in context.
For the duration of the course, it is a requirement that you are hold position (voluntary or paid) within a mission or ministry setting, where your development as a leader will be rooted in ongoing practice.
You will also engage in 1-1 tutorials with experienced professionals who will enable you to learn from what you do in practice, and demonstrate competence as a worker.
Alongside the interactive lectures and seminars, CYM provides study skills training, and ongoing academic advice and support for students, as integral components of the programme.
Core module study block week (October) and termly study days in Nottingham.
Specialist and optional module delivery methods vary each year – generally in Nottingham in Spring/Summer.
